'Tunnel options stir anger' 8 Mar 11 HERE
Note the article states that the two cheapest and closest options are located in the park. This is actually incorrect. ANZAC Park as it turns out will be the most expensive site.
Help save ANZAC Park Toowong from becoming a construction workforce car park for Brisbane City Council's 'Legacy Way'. In October 2010 BCC proposed the site. On 10 December 2010 we filed in the Supreme Court of Queensland an application for an injunction. On 16 December 2010 the 'Coordinator-General's Change Report' refused the proposal for the car park. In February 2011 BCC returned with two options to destroy the park-ANZAC Park North and the Dog off-leash area. On 5 April 2011...SAVED!

Cr Matic is wrong! Any car park for construction workers in ANZAC park will INCREASE traffic and clogging congestion in our streets. The 300 cars have to get there. This will mean 1200 traffic movements a day through our narrow, winding local streets.
ReplyDeleteCr Quinn is wrong! If the car park does not suit the construction workers they have no other options in the local community, they will have to accept the buses. The workers are not going to walk further than 400m, and ANZAC park and Wool St have four hour parking limit (shift 12 hours). Then considering the location of construction site means that there are no alternative options for workers in the streets of West Toowong.
Have our BCC councillors got anything right about this issue?
